Lambeth-piped cakes are really popular at the moment and show no signs of going out of fashion as a wedding cake anytime soon.
They are great because they really go with any wedding theme - they can be traditional or kitsch and fun, really just depending on their surroundings. They don’t need any flowers (which keeps costs down - but of course if you’d like flowers then that’s not a problem!) and can be made in any colour scheme.
Everyone seems to be calling these “Lambeth” cakes but Lambeth piping is actually a bit more delicate - have a look at Princess for example. But these cakes with bold piped details are being called Lambeth and it feels futile to resist!
I can make them with buttercream or the more traditional royal icing - which is a much better option especially in the summer as it’s heat-proof, something you definitely need to consider if your venue doesn’t have air conditioning.
These cakes really need to be finished on-site so it’s definitely worth opting for my full delivery and set-up service (to be honest, it’s ALWAYS worth going for this, I charge a token price which doesn’t cover my time because I really think your day, and your cake, will be happier if you opt for this).
I can this one “Priscilla” because of the iconic photos of Elvis and Priscilla cutting their wedding cake!
